Psalm 28
Lord, David calls You his rock, but says he cried out yo You for mercy and You heard and answered. Rocks are used a lot to describe You in scripture. You are solid, strong, and like a mountain-unmovable.
When I cry out to You, You answer me too. I have built my life on You, not on the shifting sand of the world.
You are my strength and sheild. My heart trusts in You. Knowing You are in control helps me so very much.
I praise You, Lord!
Psalm 29
Ascribe to the Lord glory due His name and worship Him in the splendor of His holiness!
Lord, with just Your voice You:
Are over the waters
Thunder
Break the Cedars of Lebanon
Strike with flashes of lightening
Shake the desert of Kadesh
Twist the mighty oaks and strip the forest bare
Are enthroned over the flood and are King forever.
Lord, had David just seen a mighty storm when he wrote this psalm? I have been through many storms in my lifetime and have seen Your power too. I have been through hurricanes, a tornado, a small earthquake, a direcho, a flood, several blizzards, and more thunderstorms than I can count. I have been under a tree when it was struck by lightening, and as a child had a lightening ball hit a tree go to the ground and chase me from the outhouse to my back porch!
The power of these storms was enormous! David says that they are just Your voice-not Your mighty hand- not some mechanized super storm maker- but just Your voice! I should not be surprised, I guess, because You spoke peace to the wind and waves on the Sea of Galilee, and they obeyed You.
Knowing You have such power gives me cause to praise You for my protection over all of these years through all of the storms, but also causes me to want to walk more worthy of Your calling in my life out of a healthy fear.
So many just here in the USA are suffering losses of epic proportions from tornadoes and are still trying to rebuild after hurricanes and earthquakes. Lord help them all to see that You also have the power to save them forever!

Psalm 25-26 Humility and Arrogance?
Dearest, Lord,
Show me how to trust and pray as David did!
He put his trust in You, not in his army.
He asks for wisdom and guidance from the One who is his hope all day long.
He recognizes that You are: good and upright, faithful and loving, instructs him on his way, and will release his foot from the snare.
His prayers of confession and supplication are not only for himself, but for his country Israel and asks that You not remember the sins of his youth.
It is because You are who You are that I can come to You with my intercessions and supplications too. Because of Calvary; I know that You do not remember my confessed sins of today or the past.
Lord, America's sin is great and we need revival and restoration. We are in the clutched of Your enemy! Restore this great land so that all will honor you!
In the very next Psalm, Lord, if I did not know more about David, it would appear that he is very arrogant.
Below are some of the verses...not all of this Psalm. If I did not know better, I would say he sounds like a Pharisee. I do wonder why he feels it necessary to remind God how holy he has been. This must have ben written before the incident with Bathsheba and Uriah for sure.
"Vindicate me, LORD, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the LORD and have not faltered. Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites. I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked. I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, LORD, proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds. Do not take away my soul along with sinners, my life with those who are bloodthirsty, in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes. I lead a blameless life; deliver me and be merciful to me. My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the LORD.

Acrostic Psalm- A Song of Praise
The Lord encouraged me this morning to write my own Psalm like David did in Psalm 119 and Psalm 25
A Psalm of Timi for her family and friends:
A- Adore the Lord, for He is good
B- Because of His great love, He saved me
C- Call upon His name and He will answer
D- Do not grieve the Holy Spirit. He is your power.
E-Even though I fail the Lord, He is merciful
F-For Your mercy is new every morning
G-Give praise to the Lord, for He is holy and just
H- He delivers me from all my distresses
I- I will praise you, O Lord, for all of Your provision
J- Justice flows from Your throne
K- Keep me in the shadow of Your cross so I will never forget your sacrifice
L- Let me abide in You always
M- Make my life a witness for Your grace
N- Now and forevermore I will praise You
O- Omniscience and omnipotance of the Lord are my comfort
P- Perseverance and patience are gifts come from the Lord to make us perfect
Q- Quench the "self" in me that I may exault You and You alone
R-Restore my soul with the joy of my salvation
S-Sing, my soul! SIng of His wonderous works!
T-Trust in the Lord and the Lord alone- not in the world, men, wealth, or men's wisdom
U- Understand His precepts and claim His promises, for He is our guide
V-Veracity is Your unshakable truth that is unchanging
W- While I was yet a sinner, Jesus died for me!
X-Examine the Lord! Search and He will be fouind by you
Y-You will find no fault or error in the Lord or His Word
Z-Zeal for the truth will be honored by the Lord.

Psalm 24 Part 1 Mother's Day
Psalm 24
"The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. Who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the LORD's blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob. Selah"
Today's Psalm and the Promise for the Day on Blue Letter Bible seemed so fitting for Mother's Day!
"Take heart, O blessed body of Christ! The Lord your God has rewarded your diligent search. He has shown Himself to you. You are granted sight of things unseen—you are granted sight of Christ Himself! Christ, the son of the morning! Christ, the eschatological Lamb! Christ, the fulfillment of all the history redemptive! Glory in Him, O congregation of all believers! For in Him consists your new life, your righteous standing, your power to sanctification, and your promise to heavenly rest! In Him consists all things (Colossians 1:17) and it is to Him that you ought be conformed! So give glory evermore: holy, holy, and surely, holy! "
Thank You, Lord, for the blessings of children and grandchildren You have bestowed upon me. I am most greatly blessed.

Psalm 23 Reflections
Psalm 23
"The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever." NLT
Lord, my blessed Good Shepherd, You know this is a favorite Psalm of many Christ Followers and even unbelievers have this read at funerals. Most children memorize this in Sunday School. I did in the King James Version and I love the language of it there, but find I like this translation too.
There have been times of trial when You have caused me to be able to rest and sleep when some would be awake and worrying, relieving my stress because You were my shepherd and I do have all I needed and have ever needed. You have led me through some very dark and dangerous valleys, but I was not afraid because You were with me. You never left me alone and vulnerable to the enemy...EVER!
Because I tend to act like a dumb sheep, You corrected and comforted me and guided me through on the right path for the honor of Your name because You received ALL of the glory. Your word and presence renew my strength (restore my soul). You give peace in turmoil.
"My cup overflows with blessings." Lord, my life is so full of blessings it is hard to list them all. I have a faithful loving husband, wonderful God fearing children and grandchildren, I have a safe and comfortable place to live, I have more food and clothing than I need, and a great job working in a wonderful place with great people. I have a great church and church family.
Surely Your goodness and unfailing love (mercy) will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever." Lord, because my "eternal" life began the day I trusted You as Savior, I am living these promises now and will indeed dwell in Your house, the room You have prepared for my in Your Father's house forever. What sweet and precious promises!

Psalm 20 (con't) Because He Died-He Will Rule All Nations
Psalm 20
"I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people. Praise the LORD, all you who fear him! Honor him, all you descendants of Jacob! Show him reverence, all you descendants of Israel! For he has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned his back on them, but has listened to their cries for help.I will praise you in the great assembly. I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship you.The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the LORD will praise him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy. The whole earth will acknowledge the LORD and return to him. All the families of the nations will bow down before him. For royal power belongs to the LORD. He rules all the nations. Let the rich of the earth feast and worship. Bow before him, all who are mortal, all whose lives will end as dust. Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord. His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born. They will hear about everything he has done."
Dear Lord! Because the first part of this psalm happened, now the last part can and will happen. How can I thank You enough for your lovingkindness and mercy! We who love You will have an eternity with You and all of our trials will be over. All of the oppressed Christians and little children in the world, in North Korea, Syria, China, and in the Islamic countries, all of the persecuted, tortured, and abused will be so no more! Hallelujah! On that day ALL of the earth will bow the knee to You and acknowledge You as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. How much better to do that now than on the last day, for the ending is far more favorable.

Psalm 22 Part One: Messianic Prophesy of Jesus' Death
Psalm 22~ first half
"My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help?...I am scorned and despised by all! Everyone who sees me mocks me. They sneer and shake their heads, saying, "Is this the one who relies on the LORD? Then let the LORD save him! If the LORD loves him so much, let the LORD rescue him!" My life is poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax, melting within me. My strength has dried up like sun-baked clay. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have laid me in the dust and left me for dead.My enemies surround me like a pack of dogs; an evil gang closes in on me. They have pierced my hands and feet. I can count all my bones. My enemies stare at me and gloat. They divide my garments among themselves and throw dice for my clothing.O LORD, do not stay far away! You are my strength; come quickly to my aid! Save me from the sword..."
Sweet Savior!~
This Psalm makes me want to weep! Through David, You predict what will happen the day You were crucified! Everything You had David write hundreds of years before Your death was totally fulfilled. Did David know this when he wrote it? None of this happened to him in his life...well some did: he too was surrounded by enemies and for a time, his people mocked him when he was running from Saul and his sons who would take his throne, You were his strength and saved him from the sword.
I find it interesting that while You were alive on the cross, God saved You from the sword. You were pierced with it after You gave up Your spirit.
Dear Lord, thank You for being willing to endure all of what You did to save my miserable sinful soul! I can never earn or deserve Your favor, and yet, I am saved from sin, death, and hell! What a wonder! What a savior You are! I will never understand Your love for me, but will revel in it all the days of my life.
