1 John 3:15 "Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life with Him."
Lord, O Lord! If this was the only verse someone ever read from Your Word, they would get the idea from the enemy that no one who ever hated or murdered could be redeemed and forgiven. I praise You because that is not true!
What John is saying her is that if we are truly Yours, we will not hate our brothers in Christ. If someone claims to be a brother, but continues to hate, they are not of Your flock. This does not mean that we all have a gooey sappy love for each other all of the time in Your family. There are still personality differences and various level of maturity within the body. Just like any family, we have babies, children, adolescents, and mature adults. The first three stages are more prone to be irritating in their immaturity. But with Your "seed" within us You make it possible to overlook (love covers a multitude of sins) and to have such a deep love for each other that the siblings work out their difficulties through exhortation, correction, and sometimes discipline.
( Matt. 18) You have called us to ,"Get rid of all bitterness, rage, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. " Ephesians 4:31-32
Lord, if we all would live our lives in this way as family members, there would never be any room for hate.
