1 Peter 1:17 “Since you call on a Father who judges each man’s work impartially, live your lives in reverent fear.”
Lord, today we honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. But for me, I will also express honor and sincere gratitude to You, Lord, for Your ultimate sacrifice for our/my freedom from the power of sin and death. Our men and women gave their lives willingly (well, maybe not all willingly during the draft period), for the protection of their beloved country, their families, and friends. You, on the other hand, sacrificed Your life for Your enemies so we could become your friends. How unlike us You are, Lord!
Father, I am now a stranger in my beloved country. So far, I have been so blessed to live in the United States of America that was founded on biblical principles and Your Word. But, even now, I am being called an enemy of the state because I believe in Your Truth. I know real persecution is coming, if not for me, for my children and grandchildren if revival does not come to America. For this reason we need, all the more, to live in reverent fear because through it we may win some. To think that our irreverence would be overlooked is foolhardy at best and ludicrous at worst. The Father, the Judge, will judge each man’s work impartially. Thank You, Lord, that You are no respecter of persons!
