Psalm 8 "O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens.
You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you.
When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place—
what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God (Elohim in the Hebrew) and crowned them with glory and honor.
You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority—the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals,
the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.
O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth" NLT
Sweet Savior! Reading this Psalm after yesterday celebrating Your resurrection is such sweet praise to You! I am still totally amazed that You would submit yourself to such ridicule, punishment, and death for me! I know what a sinner I am, Lord. Without Your saving grace and resurrection power, I would be the most miserable; condemned to die a sinner's death and be sentenced to Hell for all eternity separated from God forever.
BUT YOU loved me even in my sin and shame and from eternity past saw my need. You agreed to be my substitute, to taste death for me and only because of Your great love for me. Lord, I accept Your love and salvation because I know it is true. I don't know if I will ever understand it this side of Glory.
I will praise Your majestic name, Lord!
