1 John 4:20 "If anyone says, "I love God", yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen."
Lord, this is quite a conviction on Your church today. Your children fight in church over the slightest things, cheat on and divorce their mates, parents show wrath and even hate for one another and their children at home and then act sweet and loving at church. Then we wonder why our teens leave church as soon as they are old enough and rebel against You.
Lord, You have told us that hypocrisy is evil no matter where and when it is manifested and in this case can have eternal consequences. I can SAY anything about my love for you, but if I do not love my brothers, (saved mate, children, co-workers, and neighbors) unconditionally as You love them, I lie and deceive myself. Now that can be very scary!
I do love You, Lord, and I confess I don't always show unconditional love to my brothers. Help me, Lord to be more like You.
