We Love Because He First Loved Us

1 John 4:19  "We love because he first loved us."

         My Sweet Lord!  Without You there would be no love because You ARE love.  You first created because You are love.  You could have created the earth in all of its beauty for Yourself and just been done.  BUT, You created man, and in YOUR image, making it possible for us to love You and to love others.
You created a beautiful garden, man sinned, and in love You blocked the way back into that garden so they could not eat of the tree of life and have to live forever in their fallen state in a sin cursed world, and in love You promised them a savior.
         After all of these years, the mystery for me is still  the WHY?  Why did You do that when You knew we would neither love You nor love each other in our sinfull selves.  Why would You volunteer in eternity past before creation to be our sacrificial Lamb?  I know it is because You are love, but I can't get my mind wrapped around love that is that big!
          Help me today and every day to love You and my fellow man more, since I now have that capacity due to Your gift to me of Your love.
