1 Corinthians 4:2 "Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful."
Lord, You use the words "required" and "must" here. You are not telling us that faithfulness to the trust You have given us is optional, suggested, or hoped for. You have entrusted Christians with Your MIND!
If I had funds in a trust, I would certainly require the one to which I gave the funds to handle to be faithful. What You have given us is SO much more potent, powerful, and eternal than mere money. It gives LIFE!
There are several different translations of Your Word now, and there are some who camp out on one over the other as the "inspired" one. In today's News & Advance newspaper I read that there is a new one that reads like a Hollywood screen play. They change YAWEH to "Eternal One" and Lord into "The Eternal" because in the USA we do not have a king or live in the fiefdom mentality.
Lord, I started to get hung up on that myself this morning until I remembered that folks like the Wycliffe Translators have to go into foreign lands where they have no Bible learn the culture and the language first and then translate Your Word into something they understand. In our media movie generation, this may make more sense to folks coming to You. I will leave that to You to judge. I guess because I have grown up in the faith with the other names and understand them, I'll probably stick with the ones I usually use.
Lord, and Gentle Father, lead me into all truth by Your Spirit. I want desperately to be faithful with the trust You have entrusted to me.
