His Faithful Promises are My Armor and Protection

Psalm 91:3-6,9-16,   "For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone. The LORD says, "I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation."

Lord, You are very great and greatly to be praised!   Thank You for Angel's protection and Your lovingkindnesses toward us.  We do not deserve any of it.  The human heart is sick and desperately wicked, who can know it?  All of our righteous works are like filthy rags.
There is a condition to all of these blessings though.  You tell me, "If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter" You will do these things for those who love me, those who trust in my name."
If my relationship with you is nonexistent, my love for You is lukewarm, I am willfully sinful and unrepentant, and I do not fully trust in You; then these promises do not hold true for me. You tell me that Your faithful promises are my armor in this spiritual battle I am in and that no evil will conquer me.
You will cover you with Your feathers. You will shelter me with Your wings.  If a baby chick slips out from under Mom's feathers in a storm he is in grave danger.  I read a story of a bad fire on a farm.  When it was out, the farmer went to check damages and kicked aside a charred hen.  Under her dead body were several live chicks totally unharmed!  What a picture for me, Lord!
I will go into the fray again today as I do everyday I live on this sin-cursed earth.  Lord, You are my shield and my buckler, my strength, protector, deliverer, guide, and wisdom.  Show me clearly the enemy's plan of attack go I might hide behind You and let You fight the battle.  Help me to remember I am but dust and it is You who are my all in all and the battle surely us Yours!
I thank You and praise You for my so great salvation and all it means to me each and every day.  Cover my mouth when I would speak in anger and frustration and give me grace to give grace and mercy to others.  Change my heart, Lord to be Your heart, not mine.
