Romans 8:17-18 "And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later."
Oh, Lord! What a great an wonderful promise! You help me to understand that the suffering I endure will actually accomplish something. When I was pregnant and then delivered my babies, it was not without pain and suffering. The months of morning sickness, the backaches and the labors were intense, but when those new babies came into the world and drew their first breaths, it was well worth it and all of the suffering was forgotten.
So, I need to keep reminding myself daily that what I suffer is not for no good purpose. Lord the whole creation groans under the curse. BUT at sometime known only to the Father; You will come back to get us children and take us home. Then after You dispose of our enemies; You will give us a new heaven and a new earth to live in forever! Hallelujah, AMEN! Now THAT"S something to look forward to.
To think that our suffering, which has been great and if things go on as they look like it will increase, will not even compare to the glory You will reveal to us is far above my ability to grasp...but I believe it because You say it!
THANK YOU, LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Late addition:
Lord, I had no idea in the morning what You were going to do with this verse! I will not list them all here. Suffice it to say You blessed 10 people through that verse: students, parents, co-workers, and mu dear husband.
Lord, I am still trying to understand the last part of this verse and what it really means. The glory revealed In us...not To us...that I could understand as you are Glory personified and I know I will seeyou face to face someday.
Who Am I
