Be Like Dad

1 Corinthians 4:15-16  "For even if you had ten thousand others to teach you about Christ, you have only one spiritual father. For I became your father in Christ Jesus when I preached the Good News to you. So I urge you to imitate me. "

      Lord, I love the way Paul uses the family relationships in his writings so we can relate and understand.  In my family and in Dick's and mine. we have had only one father.  They have been imperfect as are we all.  But then we, and our children, had many teachers.  We know that none of them were perfect either.
      What Paul is saying is not said in arrogance.  He learned  from YOU personally and was guided by and encouraged by You.   He is asking the Corinthians to follow his example and in that they will be following Your's.
      Dearest, Lord, guide me and make it profitable for others to follow me.  Keep me from leading others astray.
