Jude 20 "But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in
the Holy Spirit."
Lord, thank You for Your Word! When we want to build up our bodies with exercise, most folks now days join a gym. The trainer will prescribe different exercises, some with weights, to tone and build up all of the muscle groups in a series of repetitions (Reps):
sit ups- 25 reps
curls- 25 reps
squats- 10 reps
treadmill or step machine- 30 min.
leg lifts-25 reps
etc.
Here, You tell me to "build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit." You, as my "trainer", give me what exercises I need to do all day everyday to build myself up to be a good "Soldier of the Cross":
Read Your Word
Study Your Word
Meditate on Your Word
Confess sins
Repent of sins
Pray in the Holy Spirit
Serve others
Encourage fellow soldiers
Be a generous giver
Share the Gospel
Disciple believers
Thank You, Lord for Your coaching and encouragement. I need to be fit as a "Soldier of the Cross". Weak soldiers are easy targets for the enemy. I never want to by one! Help me, Lord trainer, to become all that You need me to be!
