Ungodliness Will Not Go Unpunished

Jude 14-15 "Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him." NIV
Revelation 19:11-14 " I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."  He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." NIV

      Oh, Lord!  Some say that salvation  in You and You alone really does not matter because all roads lead to heaven and we will all end up there someday.  Some say that Your truth is simply fabricated tales to make men more civilized.  They blaspheme Your name in curses as well as call down damnation from the Father in everyday speech.  They see You as a timid wimp who would not dare to pronounce judgement on anyone.
      Last night we watched "The Nostradamus Effect:The Seven Seals of Revelation" on the History channel.  At one point they were dealing with these verses.  One man said that the one on this white horse had to be the 3rd Anti-Christ Nostradamus writes about and not the gentle Jesus of the Sermon on the Mount.  They showed parts of these verses, but of course they left out the phrases: "whose rider is called Faithful and True", and "On his robe and on his thigh He has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." NIV
      The truth is that You are Holy God and cannot tolerate sin!  It is ONLY by Your grace and mercy and incredible patience and love for us that You do not strike us down and send us to hell the moment we are born; because we are born in sin with a sinful nature, rebellious and unbelieving from birth because of Adam.  You owe us nothing but judgement and eternal fire!
      You are loving, gentle, kind, gracious,and merciful to those who have trusted You for their salvation and are true Christ Followers (Not Christian in name only), and I praise You and thank You most humbly for this unspeakable and unfathomable priceless gift!  But You are also the Righteous Judge who will give to the ungodly exactly what they have asked for and deserve.  When You come, You will have given all of mankind more than enough time to repent.
      Satan will lie to, and mislead, those who have rejected the truth to believe what they will.  Their doom is sure and horrible.  And yes, the same Lord who gave His life as a ransom for all will come again as righteous judge against the ungodly.  Woe to them.  Lord, lift the veil of blindness from their eyes so they might see the truth and believe.
      2 Peter 3:9-10 "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare." NIV
      I believe it was Jonathan Edwards who preached the sermon "It is a Fearful Thing to Fall Into the Hands of an Angry God".   We deserve eternal damnation, BUT YOU give forgiveness and eternal LIFE with YOU both here and in Heaven!  Hallelujah!  What a Savior!
