1 Peter 5:10 “And the God of all grace who called you to eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.”
Lord, You are the God of all grace. That would really be enough to praise You for in all eternity. But You made it even better for me because You called me to Your eternal glory in You! Now, it is totally by Your grace alone that I stand in this stead. I have nothing to offer You but my sinful self. And why would I be spared suffering at all? What I deserve is to have suffering all day every day because of my sinful self. But You! When You called me and saved me, any suffering I now endure is for the good of the kingdom…or should be anyway.
The fact, Lord, that You Yourself will restore me gives me cause to rejoice and persevere through the suffering with joy. You will make me strong. You will make me firm in my faith, not wavering at all. You will make me steadfast in the face of ridicule and persecution brought by the enemy of my soul. I will never be alone, left out in the cold, without help, hope, grace, and mercy in my trials. You are ever with me, ever watchful, ever encouraging me to hang in there and not succumb to depression, despair, or hopelessness. Hallelujah, AMEN!
