Hospitality? Me?

1 Peter 4:9 “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.”

            Lord, You know that this is no problem for me usually.  I love to have people at the house.  However; I know that no everyone has the “Gift” of hospitality so it would be a huge stretch to them.  I believe there is soon coming a time when we will all have to be ready to offer our homes to those fleeing persecution, maybe to our own hurt as well.  Or maybe we will be called upon to host itinerant missionaries like the apostles.

            Lord, to who this is not a natural (or supernatural) gift, give grace and mercy to soften their hearts now so in that time, they will be ready.  Help them to learn hospitality because You command it.  Give us Your heart of love so we can cover a multitude of other’s sins and allow us to be hospitable even to those less lovable and pleasant to be around.
