O my sweet Lord! I praise You this day for Your character which is so different than ours, so much more wonderful and pure! You did not have to love us, let alone promise us anything except judgment because we are so vile in ourselves. But You do love us and because of that, You do give us Your great and precious promises. Thank You, Lord! They mean so much to me.
Each day at work I remind myself, students, and sometimes staff of them:
· He who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it.
· You are His workmanship.
· He will never leave you or forsake you.
· He who called you is faithful.
· Trust in the Lord with all (not a tiny part) your heart, lean not on your own understanding, acknowledge Him in ALL your ways, and He will direct your path.
· Seek first His kingdom and He will give you everything else you need. (PP- Plyter Paraphrase)
And the list goes on and on. Lord without Your promises, there is no hope!Lord, You gave us promises so we could escape our own human nature with all of its evil desires and the corruption of this world and participate in Your divine nature. Therein is the only reason we can escape. There is no false god that can, or would, do that for its followers.
You alone:
· Are worthy of honor and praise!
· Love us with an unconditional love and empower us to do the same!
· Lead us into goodness and truth!
AMEN and AMEN!
