O Lord, over all of my years as a Christian, I have observed that there is far too little deep love within Your family, but here is a very plain command. It’s not like You have not shown us by example and in Your word how love acts. You had Paul write to the Corinthian church:
Love is:
Patient
Kind
Does not envy
Does not boast
Is not proud or rude
Is not self seeking
Is not easily angered
Keeps no record of wrongs
Does not delight in Evil
Rejoices with the Truth
Always:
· PROTECTS
· TRUSTS
· HOPES
· PERSEVERS
· NEVER FAILS
You are my example. You continue to love me deeply and unconditionally. You do not excuse my sin, but cover it. You deal with me lovingly and confidentially through loving discipline and gentle conviction through the Holy Spirit to disciple me You do not broadcast them to anyone else, exclude me, or ostracize me, and You forgive when I confess and repent refusing to remember my sin ever again. What a difference it would make in our homes, churches, neighborhoods, and places of employment if we all would follow this command completely. I confess that I find it hard sometimes and need Your grace.Dearest sweet Savior, please give me the grace to give grace and mercy to others as You have given me.
