1 Peter 5:14 “Peace to you all who are in Christ Jesus.”
O, Lord, what a day it is for this verse! Hurricane is making landfall in the Carolina Outer Banks as I write this. It will swing up the coast all the way to New England. Our Navy family cannot get out of Newport News to come to our home farther inland. Peace in the midst of the storm!
Our Pennsylvania family is struggling in a different type of storm. They are in the storm of uncertainty about finances, and what to do and where to go next or stay where they are.
Our Virginia family struggles with physical and financial issues as well.
I know there are countless other brothers and sisters all over the globe who are going through storms of their own. BUT! I love that word! We can have YOUR peace! You have not promised that we will not have storms. You HAVE promised that YOU will give us YOUR peace. Not as the world gives, but the peace that passes ALL understanding! Hallelujah, Amen and thank You, blessed Savior!
The worst that the world and the enemy can do is to destroy property and belongings, (All things belong to You, not us!), and to take our lives. (Absent from the body, face to face with the Lord.)
Lord, You have known the path Irene would take (and every other “natural disaster” as well) from eternity past and You know what the future holds for all those in her path. That gives me peace today. Nothing surprises You! All of my children, their wives, and my grandchildren, who are old enough to understand, know you as Lord and the smallest of them are under Your protection. THAT gives me the greatest peace of all!
