Crown of Glory

“And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.”

Lord, You are my king!  Because we are not a monarchy in America, crowns are not discussed on a weekly basis.  Little girls are obsessed with tiaras (thanks to Disney princesses) and older “girls” are interested in them because of the royal weddings in England or beauty queen pageants.  Other than that, the whole idea of crowns and the gravity of their meaning is probably lost on most of us.

I have read about the crowns available to the faithful in heaven.  The only reason I desire any of them honestly is so I can cast them to Your feet as You are the ONLY One worthy of praise and honor, glory and majesty.  I do not say that in false humility, Lord as You know my heart.  I have seen the crown jewels of England on TV.  I would love to see the queen and the royal family in humility cast that at Your feet as believers!  However; that crown is corruptible.  The crowns You give are incorruptible.

May I be found worthy of the crown of life and simply be able to hear You say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
