Praise and Cursing from the Same Mouth?

James 3:9-10 “With the same mouth we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who have been made in God’s likeness.  Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.  My brothers, this should not be.”
Lord this verse came in just simple progression on a Sunday morning!  I was goingt o church to praise You !  Thank You so much for showing me this before I left.  You put a guard over my heart and mouth.
Lord, I remember someone said that we can gauge out love for You by how we treat our worst enemy. That has been so convicting!  I have never lost a son to war or a child to sexual molestation or some other heinous crime so I’m not at all convinced that if that should happen I’d be able to love the enemy as I do You.
Our words certainly can betray our heart attitude toward others.  I have been guilty of bad- mouthing our current government officials. Lord, forgive me.
Why do we so quickly overlook what we say to, or about, someone else in gossip or flat out vile speech?  It certainly does not fit through the sieve of "Love your neighbor as yourself or treat others as you want to be treated."
