Praise God for His Perfect Will

James 4:15 “Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord will, we will live and do this or that.”

            Dear Lord, thank You for having a perfect plan for Your children.  You had the right, as Creator, to do anything You wished.  You could have planted us here and said, I have no particular plan for You, so you must find your own way.”  How sad that would have been.  Oh there are some who live their lives that way even now; those (even Christians) who will not acknowledge You at all.  The brothers in this particular passage had become arrogant and proud in their planning.  And we can become that way as well if we are not on guard against it.

            Lord, we have walked together what seems like such a long time, but in reality, it is like one breath in eternity…maybe not even one.  As a baby Christian I did not know enough to acknowledge You and Your plan for me.  I wasn’t even sure what sin was.  But because You are gracious and merciful and because I was yielded to You, You worked Your plan out in my life.  Thank You, Lord!

            I see now where, even when I was an unbeliever, You protected me and caused me to be rid of a “lover”, who was not, and gave me the true lover of my soul who has been exactly what I have needed in a husband all these years.  You gave me a second chance to raise my son who has been such a blessing not only to me, but to countless others!  You placed me in exactly the right place at the right time to hear Your Gospel that changed my life!  Thank You Lord!
