True Wisdom Will Show in Our Life and Deeds

James 3:13 “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in humility that comes from wisdom,”
Wise: to be enlightened; sagacious; learned
Sagacious:  quick of thought; acute; shrewd; discerning
Understand: to comprehend; to grasp the significance of
Lord, sometimes I need to go back and look up the words we use to see what they actually mean.  It’s funny that when I looked up the word wise in Webster’s Bible dictionary, they gave no definition.  All that was there were references to passages of scripture or extra Biblical books (wise men, Wisdom of Solomon Apocryphal book).
This proved to me again that the world knows nothing of Your wisdom.  From what I have been able to learn from You and Your Word, wisdom is looking at all of live through the lens of scripture; being able to assess life through Your eyes. Wise: to not lean on one’s own understanding, but God’s.
When You say, “Who is wise and understanding among you?” You are not saying, “Who is the most intelligent?” or “Who has the most degrees?”  What You are saying is, “Who walks with me in integrity and in intimacy with Me on a daily moment to moment basis?” or “Who among you has traded his earthly ways and understanding for mine?”
If we have wisdom, it should show in what we do and say.  It should show in how we treat others, how we deal with trials in our own lives, how we respond to conflict, how we nurture our loved ones, and how we act in the workplace.  Our actions and reactions should stem from a humble heart, crucified to sin and mad e new by Your act of salvation and sanctification.
If our thinking is worldly, we will tend to flaunt our knowledge (wise acre) and become arrogant and prideful spewing wise ”cracks” instead of WISDOM!  Lord, You are our example and You are neither of those things.  If we allow the Holy Spirit to reign within us and get ourselves off the throne of our lives, we will live a good life and do our acts with humility just as You did.
Lord, help us all!
