Rich Man/Poor Man

James 2:2 “Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in.”
Lord, I read a story once about an angel You sent to earth to test a church in this very thing.  He did not appear in dazzling white raiment, but with an unshaven face, dirty hair, and very shabby clothes much like a homeless person.  He walked in and sat in the back of the church.  Not one person sat anywhere near him and no one spoke to him at all, not even the Pastor until well after the service was over and the pastor was closing up the church.  There sat the “man” in the same place in the back.  The pastor reluctantly went up to him and told he would have to leave as he was closing up the church.  At that point, Your angel revealed himself, and gave the pastor a stern warning.
Lord, that simple story taught me a strong lesson, as it did that pastor and ultimately his church.  You allowed us to being very close to homeless once and it was not fun, but taught me something else.  My sweet Savior and Lord, keep me from favoritism within, and outside Your church!
